If you thought La Bella Luce owner, Aly Rohling, outdid herself last year at Christmas (yes, I did) then you won't believe what she did this year! What a treat it was to visit and lunch with her at their beautiful home in the rolling hills of northern Virginia.
My lack of photography skills becomes woefully evident here but I hope you enjoy the beauty of an Italian Christmas at the Rohling's Quarters!
(I may never blog about my own quarters again!)
(I may never blog about my own quarters again!)
Warm and welcoming, that describes Aly and her home!
Rex, he is as sweet as Tippet!
In the foyer is a tree decorated with sepia photographs of family members both old and young. It's a wonderful tribute to the both sides of the family and a beautiful sight. I believe we will have one of these in our quarters next year!
It was a little easier to photograph the foyer from above!
To the right of the entry is the dining room...there will be many more photos of this scrumptious spot!
To the left is the office. I would become a workaholic if this were my office!
Through the foyer is the kitchen and great room...and a quick peek outside!
The pantry doors in the background are super easy to assemble and can be ordered through La Bella Luce.
There is a secret ingredient in this refreshing champagne drink, maybe I can get Aly to share her recipe!
This 17' tree is stunning! It is decorated with mouth blown glass ornaments that the family has collected over the years.
The stone mantle is amazing!
Notice the rosemary topiaries peeking through the greenery!
Plenty of seating for everyone...
My favorite architectural detail to collect...a corbel...love them!
Through the kitchen is the sunroom, a sweet spot to sit inside and watch the winter weather outside!
This tree's theme is gardening...note the vintage water cans nestled underneath!
Aly's collection of silver and vintage cameras adorn the buffet in this room.
Oh, here comes the dining room...I really agonized over all of the photos, I want to share them all, there is so much to see!
A sweet treat before we go in!
Insert *sigh* here!
Did that dining room tour need any explanation?! I know there are lots of stories to tell about this room but I will link you to Aly's blog when she publishes her version!
There are still two more floors to cover but I don't want to over load you so let's take a break and come back for part two tomorrow!
Ci vediamo domani!
Absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I am never disappointed... Absolutely stunning!!!! Wish I had that talent... Thank you for sharing.
