Christmas 2018 Home Tour

I am very humbled to be in the company of Less than Perfect Life of Bliss, Amy at 11Magnolia Lane, and Evolution of Style for the finale of the 12 Days of Holiday Homes Tour hosted by 11Magnolia Lane and Evolution of Style, sponsored by Lynch Creek Farm

If you've never been to Quarters One before, welcome! I've spent the past 7 years blogging about our military quarters
(hence the  name)
and our life in the Army.
We retired in June and are currently residing by the sea in a little place we call Lost Cay Cottage.

We have a great open floor plan. My colors are pretty neutral but this season I've splashed it with some red, my favorite color.

Because all of our Christmas decorations are in storage, I decided a little would have to go a long way this year.

I had an oyster shell wreath that came apart and so now it is an oyster shell garland. You'll see that I am crazy about oyster shells, they give me so much inspiration!

I just love red, gray, and white this season.

The truth is, this is how our sofa usually looks.

My besties at Gatherings at 3 Thirteen in Manhattan, KS sent this lovely red fabric for pillows!

We don't have a tree because we are going to be celebrating Christmas day somewhere else.  It would be undecorated anyway because of our tradition of not decorating the tree when one of our family members is deployed.

Please come back and I'll show you how I set our table for a casual beach cottage Christmas lunch!

Before you leave, visit our front porch here and see how I used the beautiful wreath courtesy of Lynch Creek Farm.  It makes me so happy to look at it!
 With Gratitude, Shand

  1. Beautiful. Soothing, festive, doesn’t overtax the eye.

  3. I don't know where to start, Shand--it's all gorgeous! The oyster shells are perfect for Lost Cay Cottage; I fell in love with them, too, when we were stationed in Savannah. My couch often looks just the same way but with a dog and a cat instead of two pups, and really that's one of the things that makes a house a home! The undecorated tree is such a nice way to remember our deployed loved ones...I love that idea. I could go on and on, but I'll just close with THANK YOU for joining us on the tour this year!
